Land Use Director – Town of Lunenburg

The Town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for the Land Use Director position.

Under the general direction of the Town Manager, the Land Use Director coordinates the activities of all of the Boards and Departments involved in regulating land use and land development in town. Coordinates with Sewer Commission and Department of Public Works on utility, storm water management, drainage, road extension or development and/or other related development matters. Provides direct supervision of all Land Use departments. Serves as liaison to the Planning Board. Attends evening meetings as needed.

Bachelor’s Degree in community or regional planning, with a specialization in land use, environmental planning or economic development; minimum of ten years full-time experience in municipal planning department; or any other equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference given to candidates with a Master’s Degree in Community or Regional Planning or related field, AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) Certification and equivalent experience.

Working knowledge of federal and state community development programs, laws and regulations, including Affordable Housing Chapter 40B, Historic Preservation Chapter 40C, Economic Development Chapter 121C, State Zoning Act, Subdivision Control Law, and wetlands Protection Act and knowledge of planning and development issues is required.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), benefited position. Pay Range: $42.28/hr – $52.01/hr.
