Land Use and Community Planner – Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission

Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC) is looking for a full-time planner or senior planner with broad life experience, the capacity to pair municipal needs with available resources, and a commitment to helping Central Vermont plan for the future. The strongest candidates will have three or more years of experience and be ready to take on the responsibilities of the position (see job descriptions on our website). A background in community, town and regional planning with an understanding of municipal land use planning or related fields is preferred. The Land Use and Community Planner will be tasked with supporting municipalities to identify and achieve their goals in addressing the housing shortage, protecting forests, water and farmlands, adapting to climate change, mitigating flood impacts, and revitalizing village centers. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are a must.

The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC) works cooperatively with 23 member-municipalities in Washington and Orange counties to address regional issues and support effective local government. We engage with municipal leaders, area non-profits, regional organizations, and State and Federal agencies to implement a variety of projects and programs tailored to local and regional needs, and complete projects of statewide importance.
