The Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) is currently accepting applications for a Planning & Digital Equity Internship position to work on innovative, rural planning issues. The Intern will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of regional and municipal projects. These projects could include: conducting a community visioning effort and research for municipal comprehensive plans; assisting with research, drafting, and public engagement for a regional housing plan; conducting surveys, research and community outreach for digital equity plans; and reviewing and summarizing municipal zoning bylaws. As part of the digital equity planning outreach, the Intern will be responsible for coordinating “office hours” at select locations (like senior centers and libraries) and provide direct assistance to residents in completing the statewide digital equity survey.
Term and Compensation
Ideal candidates should be available for the Fall semester of 2023, beginning in September 2023, going through on or around December 30, 2023. This position may continue through the Spring semester at the discretion of the FRCOG. There is some flexibility in the number of hours per week ranging from 8-15 hours depending on availability and workload. The position is paid $20/hour.
