Principal Transportation Planner – SRPEDD

The Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD) is seeking a self-starting team player who enjoys collaborating as well as working on their own and is independent enough to take the initiative and serve as a reliable, effective project manager on meaningful and substantive planning projects. Under the supervision of the Transportation Planning Manager the Principal Transportation Planner performs a wide variety of transportation and transit planning tasks and supports the day-to-day functions of a busy Regional Planning Agency (RPA), one of thirteen across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with responsibility for twenty-seven municipalities (four cities and twenty-three towns).

Qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, engineering, geography, or related field and a minimum of five years in a professional capacity. A graduate degree may offset some required experience. Experience in transportation planning, addressing issues related to statewide, metropolitan, and/or corridor planning, and performance-based planning and programming are all required. Transit experience, related to passenger surveys, bus route evaluations, Transit Asset Management Plans and Performance Measures are a plus.

$70,000 to $75,000 starting annual salary.  May be filled at a higher or lower level, depending upon qualifications.
