Senior Planner – City of Worcester

The City of Worcester seeks applicants for the position of Senior Planner. A primary responsibility of the Senior Planner position is to support the administration of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), including providing professional development review services to support their decision making. The Senior Planner also participates in the overall work program of the Planning & Regulatory Services Division, which includes land use, zoning, urban design, and related subject areas, including the city’s newly established long-range planning process, Worcester Now|Next. Attendance at evening meetings is required, typically 2 or 3 meetings per month.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, geography or other related discipline PLUS three (3) years of professional experience in planning, development review, or a directly related field; OR,
  • A Master’s Degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, geography or other related discipline PLUS one (1) year of professional experience in planning, development review, or a directly related field will be considered in lieu of the above mentioned requirements.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $66,663.34 – $79,561.88 annually, full-time, exempt, with an excellent benefits package.
