SLR International Corporation is seeking a Planner I (1 to 3 years of experience) to serve as valuable members of our multi-disciplinary team located in New England.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Understanding of the principles and practices of municipal planning, particularly in the State of Connecticut
  • Technical knowledge in housing, land use, and zoning related to planning activities
  • Demonstrated experience in working with local officials and the public in the community engagement process
  • Critical thinking and strong communication skills (graphic, written, and interpersonal)
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Excel and Esri ArcGIS is preferable
  • Efficient, thorough, detail oriented, and dedicated to quality work
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment across numerous disciplines

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a current municipal planning department, private planning firm, or similar.
  • A master’s degree in planning or a closely related field
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or actively pursuing certification is highly desirable
  • Current valid driver’s license and ability to travel
