Assistant Planner – City of Fall River

The City of Fall River, Massachusetts seeks an Assistant Planner to join the Planning Department!

The ideal candidate will have experience with municipal planning, including duties associated with the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Conservation Commission. This position will report directly to the City Planner. Thorough knowledge of modern methods and practices of planning, land use and zoning is required. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in city/urban/regional planning, urban design, engineering, landscape architecture, conservation or a related field and two years’ experience in municipal, state or regional planning or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Fall River, a Gateway City, is at the precipice of an urban renaissance, with tons of cool new projects, including a new Urban Renewal Plan, the long-awaited extension of commuter rail to the City and the Southeast Region, the rerouting of Route 79 leading to the reconnection of the City to its waterfront, and much, much more.
