The Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) is a dynamic and accomplished regional planning agency possessing a very talented staff and a supportive Board of Directors. We are seeking an energetic Regional Planner as part of our team of professional staff. The Regional Planner will be responsible for assisting towns with implementing energy actions to meet Vermont’s energy goals, individual town planning projects, and assisting other staff on a variety of existing projects. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking, outreach, and facilitation. The ability to learn new tasks, a sense of humor, a public service attitude, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and at least a bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental studies or a related field are required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience in energy and land use planning is desired. Additional experience in economic development, hazard mitigation, GIS, social media, or graphic skills, and AICP certification are a plus. Position requires a valid driver’s license, a dependable vehicle, and attendance at night meetings.
TRORC’s region is comprised of 30 towns in east central Vermont with a combined population of 56,000. Most of the region is quite rural and we have excellent recreational assets, very low unemployment and a variety of cultural and educational opportunities.
