We would like to share some updates with you regarding the National Planning Conference 2021 (NPC21). As you may be aware NPC21, originally scheduled as a live event in Boston, will be held virtually on May 5-7 due to COVD-19. Registration for the conference is now open.
The Local Host Committee (LHC) is coordinating with APA staff on the nature of local content. A significant component of the conference will be prepared ahead of time and, unfortunately, the amount of local content will be greatly reduced compared to traditional NPC’s. We will still have conference events, orientation tours, and mobile workshops, but much of this programming will be prerecorded or virtual. Although local content will be less than typical compared to a traditional NPC, volunteers are still needed for:
Conference Events: Currently, the plan is to hold eight conference and three wellness events. These events include: Planners Jeopardy, Virtual Happy Hour, Concert Series, an interactive event with the Boston Improv Asylum, Movie Night, Virtual Brew Tour, a Book Club session, and a variety show loosely titled “Late Night with APA-MA.” Wellness events include Boston Yoga, Boston Step Marathon, and a Virtual Wellness Lounge. We are looking for volunteers to help support some of these events.
Orientation Tours: Volunteers are also needed to help with orientation tours. These tours will be videotaped and posted on the conference website. Please let us know if you are interested in helping to determine orientation tour content and providing video for the tours.
Mobile Workshops: Currently, 3-5 Mobile Workshops are planned. This is much different than the 55-65 typically held during a traditional NPC. Please let us know if you are interested in joining the mobile workshop committee.
The LHC would love to have additional help with the conference. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Scott Turner at email@example.com or 617-429-3288. We look forward to hearing from you!
