STARTING SALARY: Merit Grade 18 – Salary dependent upon experience
Oversees the staffing, funding and daily operations of the Nashua Transit System. Improve the coordination and support of all modes of transportation within, to and from, and through the City of Nashua, including coordination with other transit agencies. Manage the funding of and ensure safe efficient operation of the transit system, including its vehicles, employees, passengers, contractors, offices, garages, bus stops, and shelters. Manage and comply with all relevant US Department of Transportation and Federal Transit Administration funding and regulations, including procurement, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VI, Drug and Alcohol and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).
Collaborate with local, regional and state organizations including the Nashua Regional Planning Commission, Regional Coordinating Council, NH Transportation Association, NH Department of Transportation and Northeast Passenger Transportation Association. Maintain a solvent financial future by seeking new funding sources, managing annual appropriations and pursuing competitive grant opportunities. Monitor and continuously update the Transit Asset Management (TAM) and the Agency Safety Plan. Continue to advance the passenger experience with the implementation of new technologies. Coordinate with other city departments in planning for the successful integration of transit as the city redevelops and with operational impacts during construction season. Perform other duties as required.
BS in Public Administration, Planning, Business or related degree and a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant project and managerial experience. Knowledge of public transit planning and administration, and federal grant regulations, including planning, procurement, compliance, environmental, ADA, Title VI, Drug and Alcohol and DBE, TAM and Safety Plan. Possess computer literacy to perform the requirements of this position. Possess a valid driver’s license.
