Assistant City Manager/Department of Planning and Development Director – City of Lowell

The City of Lowell is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Assistant City Manager/Department of Planning and Development Director in the Department of Planning and Development. This position reports to the City Manager and supervises all personnel involved in the daily operation of the Department of Planning and Development including the City’s Economic Development, Community Development, Planning, Housing/Energy and Development Services groups.

Bachelor’s degree required in Urban Planning, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other related field.  Master’s degree preferred.  American Institute of Certified Planners certification preferred. Minimum 5-7 years demonstrated successful full time experience in Urban Planning or Public Administration, and current knowledge of all state and federal programs dealing with community development, including CDBG and HOME. Demonstrated management and supervisory experience of at least 10 subordinate professional personnel. Salary range: $114,648.04 to $134,700.80 annually.
