Fast-paced and collaborative, the Community Planning and Economic Development Department is responsible for delivering plans and projects at the regional and city/town levels, in particular but not limited to the following: regional and municipal long-range planning, including visioning and master plans; municipal vulnerability and hazard mitigation planning; municipal energy use reduction and climate adaptation; parks and open space planning; economic development and recovery; housing; and zoning.
The OCPC is looking for an outgoing, detailed oriented, experienced planner with outstanding analytical capabilities, design skills and a passion for community outreach and engagement. This dynamic individual will thrive working with a passionate team curious to find solutions for a diverse portfolio of locally identified issues and a consistent record of responding to critical and sophisticated inquires or requests for information from informed citizens or municipal officials about proposed developments, Planning Board actions, laws, or regulations.
This position requires self-motivation and strong initiative with excellent writing skills to organize and present planning research studies. The applicant will develop professional relationships with local officials, staff, and regional partners through extensive interaction in a variety of public settings to provide professional and technical assistance to member communities with specialized land use and resource planning activities.
