Senior Planner, and Planning Analyst – City of Worcester

The Executive Office of Economic Development, Planning & Regulatory Services Division, seeks to fill two vacancies: a Senior Planner position and a Planning Analyst position. Both positions are responsible for supporting a variety of current and long-range planning activities involving subjects such as development review, land use, zoning, urban design, and comprehensive planning. These positions provide professional and technical assistance to Boards and Commissions, including the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. Attendance at two to three evening meetings per month is required.

SENIOR PLANNER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related discipline. Four or more yrs of experience in planning, development review, or a directly related field. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related discipline (May be substituted for two yrs of experience). Experience applying planning principles and techniques in a work setting. Experience related to municipal development review, including review or preparation of reports and plans such as subdivision plans, site plans, and/or parking plans. Customer Service experience. STARTING SALARY: $64,075.28 – $71,234.18 annually, full time + benefits.

PLANNING ANALYST MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related discipline. Two yrs of relevant experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related discipline, (May be substituted for two yrs of experience). Experience applying planning principles and techniques in an academic and/or work setting. Customer Service experience. STARTING SALARY: $24.45-27.75 hourly, full time + benefits.
