The Massachusetts Association of Planning Directors (MAPD) 2011 Annual Conference will be held on June 9-10, 2011 in New Bedford, MA.
Conference Registration:
To register for the conference, simply print, complete and mail in the hard copy Registration Form in the Conference Program (downloadable above), along with a check for the conference fees specified below.
Conference Fees:
MAPD Members $85.00, Non-members $100.00. Fee includes workshops, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks and lunches on Thursday and Friday. Registration and fees must be received no later than Friday, May 27, 2011.

Hotel Accommodations:
Hotel reservations and payment for overnight accommodations should be made directly with the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, 185 MacArthur Drive in New Bedford (02740) via phone at 1-774-634-2000. The preferred rate is $119.00 for standard room, or $139.00 for standard room with Harbor view, plus state and local taxes. In order to receive the preferred rate you must make your reservation no later than Sunday, May 15, 2011 and ask for booking code “MAP.”

FAQs for Session Moderators and Speakers
Q. If I am only attending the session I am moderating/participating in, do I need to pay the registration fee for the whole conference?
A. If you are a moderator or speaker, and you are only attending your own session, you do not need to pay the conference registration fee. However, moderators/speakers who plan to attend the whole conference, or any sessions other than their own (there is no partial registration fee) do need to register and pay. We will provide the MAPD conference rate to those speakers / moderators who wish to attend the conference but who are not MAPD members. This means a conference rate of $85 rather than $100.
Speakers / moderators whose session is right before or after lunch on Thursday or Friday are welcome to join us for lunch at no cost, but we do ask that you let us know if this is your intent for meal planning purposes.
Q. AV setup, will there be laptop / screen/ projector at the room or should we bring those?
A. A laptop and projector will be set up in each of the two presentation rooms. Powerpoint slides may be sent to Angus Jennings by email (ajennings@westfordma.gov) no later than Tuesday, June 6, and/or may be brought to the conference facility on CD or thumb drive. We recommend both emailing slides and bring a copy for redundancy. If bringing slides directly to the conference, please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to allow time for set-up.
Q. What is the room setup ?
A. Theater seating with tables and microphones up front.
Q. Can I find out prior to the date of my session the number of anticipated attendees for our session? (for estimating # of handouts, and planning for content)
A. Estimates of per-session attendance will be available a few days after conference registration closes on May 27. This information will be distributed to speakers/moderators, or you can contact Angus Jennings with questions.
Q. Are there flip charts / markers in the room or should we bring them?
Flip charts and markers are not generally made available. However if this will be helpful to your session simply notify Angus and we will provide.
Q. Will MAPD publish digital versions of the presentations after the conference?
A. We request that moderators/presenters make their presentation materials available to MAPD electronically. These materials would be uploaded to the MA-APA website following the conference.
