Learn @APA-MA: Inclusionary Zoning Solutions

Learn @APA-MA, an initiative by APA-MA to expand knowledge of planning professionals in Massachusetts, invites you to attend a half-day workshop focused on Inclusionary Zoning Solutions.  The Workshop includes six diverse panel sessions through the morning and a luncheon presentation by Sheila Dillon, Chief of Housing and Director of Neighborhood Development for the City of Boston.  Thanks to the expertise of approximately 25 professionals and local officials working within the field of inclusionary zoning, the workshop is scheduled to address the following:

– Creating affordable units,
– Policy and practical issues with fees in lieu of units,
– The developer’s perspective,
– Legal issues,
– Marketing and fair housing, and
– Getting units to “count” on the Chapter 40B Subsidized Housing Inventory.
– AICP CM is being submitted to APA National for all sessions of this workshop.

Sheila Dillon

Chief of Housing and Director of the Department of Neighborhood Development
City of Boston

Sheila Dillon serves the City of Boston as Cabinet Chief of Housing and Director of the Department of Neighborhood Development (DND).  As a member of the Mayor’s Cabinet, she advises the Mayor on housing policy, small business development, legislation and neighborhood issues. As DND Director, she oversees the management of the four program divisions within DND, including the Boston Home Center, Neighborhood Housing Development, Office of Business Development, and Real Estate Management and Sales.  This work includes managing a staff of 150 and a budget of $83 million, which includes federal grants from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development.
