Deputy Town Planner – Town of Burrillville

The Town of Burrillville, located in northwest Rhode Island, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Town Planner.  The Deputy Town Planner works under the general supervision and direction of the Town Planner/Economic Development and assists with performing the duties of the Town Planner’s office.

The hours for this position are Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Thursday, 8:30 am through 7:00 pm, and Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.  The Deputy Planner is required required to attend posted meetings of the Planning Board including subcommittees and executive sessions.  These meetings are normally held at night (outside of normal working hours) and the Deputy Planner shall be available to attend.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or related field and two years (2) of experience in a local government planning office (or comparable setting), or five years (5) of experience in a local government planning office coupled with experience in administering those duties.  An alternate combination of experience and education may be considered as determined by the Town.
