RFP for Planning Services – Malden Redevelopment Authority

The Malden Redevelopment Authority (MRA), on behalf of the City of Malden, is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to conduct a study to: (1) Study existing physical and economic conditions of the Broadway (Rte. 99) Malden Corridor; (2) Project Encore Boston Harbor gaming related impacts on the Corridor; (3) Provide recommendations relating to land use given known environmental conditions may constrain certain types of development and defining approaches to remediation, including both public and private actions; (4) Provide recommendations relating to economic development using current or recommended zoning, design guidelines, and other regulatory mechanisms to encourage the appropriate balance of uses (hotel/retail/office/industrial/limited residential) and supporting infrastructure and public space amenities; (5) Define how these strategies support a diversified strategy for job retention and creation; and (6) Provide an implementation plan that assigns responsibilities for next steps and identifies and connects funding strategies with those steps.
