Regional Planner – Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission

The Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) is a dynamic and accomplished regional planning agency possessing a very talented staff and a supportive Board of Directors.  We are seeking an energetic Regional Planner as part of our team of professional staff.  The term of employment is one year, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.  The Regional Planner will be responsible for individual projects, as well as assisting other professionals on a variety of existing projects.  Candidates must be able to hit the ground running and have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. A Bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental studies or a related field is required, and a Master’s degree preferred.  Experience at the municipal or county level in land use planning, zoning, transportation, public health or economic development, and GIS is also desired.  Strong social media and graphic skills a plus.  Having AICP certification is a plus.  Position requires a valid driver’s license, a dependable vehicle and attendance at night meetings.

TRORC’s region is comprised of 30 towns in east central Vermont with a combined population of 56,000.  Most of the region is quite rural and we have excellent recreational assets, very low unemployment, and a variety of cultural and educational opportunities.  TRORC’s offices are beautifully located on a conserved farm on the outskirts of Woodstock, Vermont.
