Principal Planner – Town of Danvers

The Town of Danvers is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Principal Planner to join the staff in  the Department of Land Use and Community Services.

The Principal Planner position requires advanced professional planning experience of highly complexity and variety.  The Principal often leads or is significantly involved with larger, more complex planning assignments.  The Principal Planner exercises greater independence and judgment, receiving general supervision from senior management and assists with the supervision of the Staff Planner and administrative staff.  The position is a senior level, professional position reporting to the Director of Land Use and Community Services.

The position requires a master’s degree in planning or related field and four years of professional planning experience.  The Town may accept candidates possessing a bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field and six years of professional planning experience.  Prior supervisory experience is preferred. AICP Certification is preferred. Preference may be given to applicants possessing qualifications above these minimums. This is 40-hour full time position involving numerous regular evening meetings with various town boards and committees.  With an expected annual salary range of $60,645.00 – $79,268.00 For a complete job description visit: www.danversma.gov/jobs.
