Senior Planner (Long-Range Planning)

The City of Worcester is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Senior Planner. This position will primarily concentrate on long-range planning, but may also be assigned to assist with current planning work administered by the Planning & Regulatory Services Division. The Senior Planner’s work will focus on the collaborative development of comprehensive plans, master plans and planning studies, including preparation of a new citywide master plan. This position will also be responsible for monitoring and assisting in the implementation of plans over time.

The selected candidate will have excellent written and presentation skills, and demonstrable experience with the preparation of planning documents and planning studies. Bachelor’s degree in city or regional planning, urban studies, geography, or other related discipline, and four or more years of related professional experience required; A Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable and may be substituted for one year of professional experience.

Starting annual salary $60,381 to $67,122 with an excellent benefits package.
