The Town of Carver (pop. 11,500) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Director of Planning, Environment, and Permitting. The Director serves as the senior in-house resource for all planning and economic development issues and directs the specific functions of the department. The departments of Planning, Building Inspections, Health, Conservation and Zoning fall under the direction of the Director of Planning. The Director performs professional, technical and administrative work in administering planning and land use controls, and in coordinating and shaping both the short and long range plans of the community including community development proposals; and other related work as required. We are looking for a seasoned leader with skills in these areas as well as grant writing and project management.

Minimum qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in planning, community development or public administration required, Master’s degree preferred.  A minimum of five years of experience in land use or municipal planning and two years of supervisory experience required.  A complete job description may be obtained by contacting Human Resources.
