RIPTA – Transit Planning Intern
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority Planning Department is hiring a paid intern for Summer 2017. RIPTA is Rhode Island’s statewide public transit provider and is based in Providence, the second-largest metro area in New England. The intern will work collaboratively with staff on large-scale projects including on-time performance improvement, network restructuring projects, human services transportation coordination, sustainability and social justice initiatives, as well as other projects to be assigned. Interns may have opportunity to do original work and take a leadership role on certain projects. Some projects may occasionally require work outside normal office hours, so schedule flexibility is required. This posting is particularly targeted at masters-level students but undergraduate upperclassmen in relevant fields are also encouraged to apply.
Interested applicants should send a position-specific cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please clearly indicate why you wish to work for our agency and what specific experience would be relevant to this position. Applicants to this position will be reviewed as their materials are received, and the position will remain open until filled.
