Regional Planner

The Nashua Regional Planning Commission seeks a regional planner to join its tightly-knit, award-winning team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in both land use and transportation planning. The regional planner will work on a variety of transportation, land use, urban design, and public health projects on the regional and local levels. The selected candidate will help develop the region’s long range transportation plan and local master plans, conduct outreach and may provide local planning board support. Applicants should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate planning concepts and data into graphical and accessible products.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, geography, community development, environmental studies, or a related discipline and 3 – 5 years of work experience is desired, or master’s degree with 2 years of experience. Applicants should be adept at working in a variety of software platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience with New Hampshire land use and planning law and federal transportation planning regulations is a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to attend evening meetings. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
