The position of Campus Planner is a part-time, temporary position with funding through June 2016, contingent upon workload. Anticipated hourly rate is $35.00 or higher dependent on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in management of Campus Planning and Capital Project Planning projects, including: establishment, management, and tracking of project budgets and schedules; management of design and OPM consultants; communication with user groups and other campus stakeholders; coordination with the UMass Building Authority and/or Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance, as applicable.
  • Space planning, programming, test fits, and small capital project conceptualization and feasibility analyses.
  • Conduct research and analysis of existing campus conditions, projections, peer examples, national standards, code and regulatory considerations, and other case studies in support of planning projects.
  • Conduct field documentation and data collection for planning initiatives.
  • Prepare presentation materials, documents, and other graphic products to assist with the visualization and communication of planning findings and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Geography, or a closely related field required. Candidates with degrees in other fields who have extensive directly relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Master’s degree in Planning, Architecture, or a closely related field strongly preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Facility with MS Office, Adobe Design Suite, and AutoCAD required.
  • GIS/FIS, project scheduling software, and/or advanced Excel expertise desired.
