Part-time Lecturer in Urban Planning and Design at Harvard GSDTransportation Planning

The GSD seeks a part-time lecturer to teach a course in urban transportation planning for masters level students in urban planning and design tentatively starting in the spring of 2016.  The course should give students a basic understanding of the issues and methods of urban transportation planning including a brief history of modern transportation planning, the causes and consequences of urban travel patterns and trends, the extent to which the density and design of land uses can influence travel choices, travel demand modeling and level of service analysis, the environmental impacts of transportation projects and policies, the practice of transportation planning at the metropolitan scale, traffic impact analyses of real estate developments, and equity issues.  The course would focus mainly on planning in US cities, although discussion of foreign experience would be welcome.
