Campus Planner – Harvard University

The Campus Planner within Harvard Capital Planning and Project Management (HCPPM) will be an integral part of a small team of strategic campus planning professionals who support the University’s physical growth and development. Reporting to the HPPM Director of Master Planning, the Campus Planner participates in a wide variety of land use, real estate, transportation, regulatory and community participation processes, and works in a strong team approach with HPPM colleagues.  Key activities include master planning, project planning, transportation planning, housing planning, regulatory management programming, research and analysis, report and presentation preparation, consultant management and other related efforts in support of complex and sensitive planning issues and projects.

Basic Qualifications:
Masters degree in urban planning, urban design, landscape architecture or related discipline required, and 5-7 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of urban and campus planning and development required.

Additional Qualifications:
Excellent graphic and design skills, and strong organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency using Excel spreadsheets. Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization and to meet deadlines while working concurrently on multiple projects and stakeholders. Experience working well in teams and independently. Adept at handling issues that require sensitivity and sound judgment. Knowledge of Boston, Cambridge and Harvard community helpful.
