Massachusetts Association of Planning Directors

The Massachusetts Association of Planning Directors, Inc. (MAPD, Inc.), is affiliated with the American Planning Association – Massachusetts Chapter. MAPD Inc. is a not for profit membership organization of professional planners, dedicated to the following:

  • Facilitating the exchange of information relevant to planning issues, techniques and innovations at the local level;
  • Presenting the perspective of the planning professional at the local level with regard to legislative and programmatic proposals of various levels of government;
  • Facilitating the discussion of community planning problems;
  • Promoting interest in and support for community planning throughout the Commonwealth;
  • Encouraging the coordination of the activities of the various professional and other planning organizations in Massachusetts;
  • Promoting fellowship and networking opportunities among members.

Eligibility for Membership:

Any professional planner, municipal or private sector, or other individual actively involved in planning issues as an employee or advisor, having an interest in the objectives of the Corporation shall be eligible to apply for membership.

Activities of MAPD, include:

Monthly topic luncheons (AICP CM credits provided)
Participation with the Citizen Planners Training Collaborative
Annual 2-Day Conference (AICP CM credits provided)

Annual Membership dues
are $75.00 for 2009-2010
